ARTIST BIOGRAPHY

Hello!

I'm Ellie, a Scottish, feminist, experimental theatre maker. I create absurd, playful performances that use audience participation, clowning and contemporary performance practices. My work often plays between physical and digital realms, drawing from the mediatised elements of everyday life. My work is inherently political yet abstract, leaving space for the audience to form their own questions and interpretations.

Dedicated to creating a collaborative practice, I am a co-founder of The Norm Project, an interdisciplinary collective creating immersive installations and performances. We’ve worked with CityMoves Dance Agency, The Scottish Storytelling Centre and Gallery 395. Additionally, I often work as an Assistant Lecturer at Queen Margaret University and Facilitator at Cutting Edge Theatre.
